Artist’s Biography
I am an abstract painter based in the San Francisco Bay Area where my work is shown in several prominent corporate spaces, restaurants, galleries and cafes. I have had several successful solo exhibitions over the years, including an exclusive event in which I partnered with Mercedes-Benz of California. One of my paintings was chosen as the cover of the college textbook, ”Gendered Lives”, by Julia T. Wood, eleventh edition, and I was recently asked to license some of my images to a London design house to be recreated as fabric for women’s couture. Additionally, I frequently lead painting workshops in my Bay Area studio.
During my past three decades as an artist, I have supported many youth arts programs including volunteering as an instructor at the Lilian Paley Center for the Visual Arts in Oakland, California.
I have studied fine art at Chabot College in Hayward, California and at the University of California at Berkeley.
Artist’s Statement
My paintings are explorations of my dreams, emotions and imagination. With vivid washes of color and the addition of subtle textural elements, my works are representations of personal experiences: love, loss, and infinite joy. Much of my art is interwoven with intricate patterns and the delicate application of gold leaf to further conceptualize my themes. All my paintings have deep, personal meaning.
