Ghosts of Abiquiu No. 2

This is the second in my series of paintings inspired by my travels to beautiful New Mexico. During one of my amazing road trips through the land of enchantment I had the opportunity to visit Ghost Ranch near the tiny village of Abiquiu. This magical place was once the home and studio of Georgia O’Keeffe as well as the subject of many of her paintings. I was awe-struck by the beauty of the multi-layered cliff walls that surrounded the area. These magnificent formations seemed almost surreal as they changed colors from red to golden depending on the lighting and the time of day. The painting continues around the 1.5″ sides of this gallery-wrapped canvas making it ready to hang.
