This painting was inspired by a trip to San Diego where I had the opportunity to go kayaking on Mission Bay. We started out very early in the morning and leisurely meandered around the beautiful lagoons within the bay. The blue water was so calm that it looked like a sheet of glass and not a sound could be heard except for the delicate splashing of our oars and the calls of nearby sea birds. I felt that this was indeed a lagoon of peace. The painting continues around the 1.5″ sides of this gallery-wrapped canvas making it ready to hang.
